Part-Time Accountant






A company, located in North York, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Part-Time Accountant to join their team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial health of our organization and may evolve into a full-time role. The successful candidate will primarily focus on assisting with month-end financial statements, bank reporting, budgeting, general ledger accounts, and journal entries.


  1. Month-End Financial Statements:
    • Prepare and analyze month-end financial statements with a high degree of accuracy.
    • Reconcile accounts to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data.
  2. Bank Reporting:
    • Manage bank reporting processes, including reconciling bank statements and monitoring transactions.
    • Work closely with financial institutions to address any discrepancies.
  3. Budgeting:
    • Collaborate with the finance team to assist in the budgeting process.
    • Provide support in creating, maintaining, and monitoring budgets to ensure financial goals are met.
  4. General Ledger Accounts:
    • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
    • Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
  5. Journal Entries:
    • Record accurate and timely journal entries.
    • Analyze financial data to identify and rectify discrepancies.
  6. In-Office Work:
    • Perform all job duties on-site in our North York office.
    • Collaborate with team members and management to address accounting-related tasks and challenges.
  7. Ad Hoc Tasks:
    • Assist in various financial projects and tasks as required.
    • Contribute to process improvements and the overall efficiency of the finance department.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA designation or pursuing CPA is an asset.
  • Proven experience in accounting roles, preferably in a similar capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
