JOB DESCRIPTION
A company, located in North York, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Part-Time Accountant to join their team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial health of our organization and may evolve into a full-time role. The successful candidate will primarily focus on assisting with month-end financial statements, bank reporting, budgeting, general ledger accounts, and journal entries.
Responsibilities:
- Month-End Financial Statements:
- Prepare and analyze month-end financial statements with a high degree of accuracy.
- Reconcile accounts to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data.
- Bank Reporting:
- Manage bank reporting processes, including reconciling bank statements and monitoring transactions.
- Work closely with financial institutions to address any discrepancies.
- Budgeting:
- Collaborate with the finance team to assist in the budgeting process.
- Provide support in creating, maintaining, and monitoring budgets to ensure financial goals are met.
- General Ledger Accounts:
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
- Journal Entries:
- Record accurate and timely journal entries.
- Analyze financial data to identify and rectify discrepancies.
- In-Office Work:
- Perform all job duties on-site in our North York office.
- Collaborate with team members and management to address accounting-related tasks and challenges.
- Ad Hoc Tasks:
- Assist in various financial projects and tasks as required.
- Contribute to process improvements and the overall efficiency of the finance department.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA designation or pursuing CPA is an asset.
- Proven experience in accounting roles, preferably in a similar capacity.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
